Sir Charles Kingsford Smith
One of Australia's most celebrated pioneering aviators. His famous aircraft, the Southern Cross, visited Crookwell in August 1934, piloted by P. G. Taylor.

April 2000
This commemorative plaque was unveiled at the Crookwell Aerodrome in 2000, honouring Captain Geoffrey Hughes and his wife, Margaret, who flew from Sydney for the aerodrome's official opening in 1929.

May Bradford
Pioneering Australian aviator and aircraft engineer May Bradford with her British Klemm Eagle monoplane, VH-USI.
She was invited to attend a proposed Crookwell air pageant in November 1936.

May Bradford
May Bradford was a pioneering Australian pilot and aircraft engineer. She held both private and commercial pilot licences and was the only woman in Australia, at the time, to hold both A and B ground engineer certificate.

Les "Lucky" Holden
Decorated First World War pilot Les "Lucky" Holden landed this DH-61 Giant Moth on the old Crookwell racecourse during his visit in December 1929.

The air pageant 1929
